Whitney Branan

Whitney Branan, born and raised in Memphis, moved to NYC to attend Wagner College. She was a resident tap coach for the Broadway show Billy Elliot and two of its national tours. Whitney has performed across the country (dancer at Bally’s Casino in Las Vegas), and across the ocean (three award-winning tours to the International Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland.)

 

As an actor, her favorite NYC credits include “Janet Van De Graaf” in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE (The Gallery Players), ”Sheila" in HAIR (Dillon’s Mainstage West 54th), "Catherine" in PIPPIN (Snug Harbor), and “Kelly” in THE IRISH AND HOW THEY GOT THAT WAY (Snug Harbor/Queens Theatre in the Park).

 

Favorite regional credits include “Sally Bowles” in CABARET (Playhouse on the Square), “Velma Von Tussle” in HAIRSPRAY (Theatre Memphis), “Marion” in PRISCILLA: QUEEN OF THE DESERT (Playhouse on the Square), “Corie Bratter” in BAREFOOT IN THE PARK (DeSoto Family Theatre), "Reno Sweeny” in ANYTHING GOES (Theatre Memphis), “Amber Von Tussle” in HAIRSPRAY (Playhouse on the Square), and “Val” in A CHORUS LINE (Theatre Memphis). Whitney has played both “Race” and “Katherine” in separate productions of NEWSIES (Theatre Memphis/DeSoto Family Theatre.) SAG-AFTRA, AEA unions member.
